The 133rd Open Golf Championship

In 2004 The Open returned to Troon, Scotland, and once again I was there to watch. The "Claret Jug" championship trophy was on display in the tented village along with the original challenge belt that was won outright by Tom Morris Junior in 1870 when he won the Open for the 3rd consecutive time just down the road at Prestwick. Not being an accredited press photographer, I could not take photos during competition play. However, on the practice days it was quite acceptable, so I grabbed a few while I could. I swear I almost caught David Love III smiling but it might just have been a trick of the light.

Ernie Els
Here's Ernie's swing in 4 stages. Check out that left arm: see how straight he keeps it throughout the backswing and the striking zone? Try it, it's not as easy as you might think.
